To extract month and year from a date column in Power Query

Add custom column
In Custom column:
- Date.Month([Date Column Name])
If you’d like to combine both month and year into one column:
- Date.totext(Date.Month([Date])) & Date.totext(Date.Year([Date]))
- If it is a number column, you use Number.ToText()
